  UPDATE--------------------
It is truly a blessing bestowed upon us to provide a service for an individual who is unable to perform that activity. I washed Summers hair last evening, and the ability to do so made me think about the opportunities we are given and how they are a gift from the Lord. When we ignore those little, heart tugs, we forfeit that chance to love like Him. As I was washing her hair, thoughts of gratitude and the realization of how fortunate I am to be able to provide this, gave me peace. As her hair slid through my fingers, the sensation of pure love warmed me through and through. We certainly need to act more like Him to recognize these wonderful blessings. If our hearts are cold and closed off there is no way to feel love for ourselves or for others.
I sit here, vigilantly awaiting the ICU visiting times and praying that God will choose me to be an instrument and example. A favorite song of Summers, "Here I Am, Lord" runs through my mind, especially the following verses:

"I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard My people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,
my hand will save.
I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear My light to them whom shall I send?"
"Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart"
"I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have born my peoples pain.
I have wept for love of them,
They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak My word to them, whom shall I send?"

and I know that she truly lives as such. Summer is steadily improving and with Gods help, will be home very soon. Thank you on behalf of Summer, for your prayers. Thank you from myself, for being there in support. God Bless you all!

My dear friend Summer, (see prayer request, Serious Illness - July 6) has made it through surgery having had several complications, but is now out of critical condition, yet still in ICU. Please continue sending prayers her way. I flew up to see her and take care of her for a while so she will not be alone. She spoke with me about her new job offer and is in good spirits. She hopes to be home soon. Thank you.
