I have a beautiful 21 year old daughter I am very proud of. After highschool, her father said he would help with college only if she lived with him and went to the local university. She did, but there have been problems. He puts her down, talks about how she won't be able to make it on her own, and expects her to continue living with him. She has finally realized she is smart and has lots to offer. Took an IQ test in half the time allowed and still got a score of 130. That made her realize she can do a lot more. She is seriously considering enlisting in the Navy, in large part to get away. He has tried to hold her down for so long, she is ready to break away completely. Thankfully she and I still have a good relationship and she calls me frequently--though most often when she is alone in the house. She had given up on the idea of enlisting, but found out she can get a medical waiver for a very minor physical problem she has. Nothing at all disabling. I am expecting her to be gone by Christmas, if not sooner. I pray, what ever she does, she will take Christ with her.
