The writer's for the television series, LOST, would have us believe that Sayid's too stupid to realize two words about interrogations....
CURRENT EVENTS...
Come on. The guy who claims to have balloon-wrecked on the island several month's ago (not having been in the U.S. for six months or so) should know some current events if he is not one of "the others."
All they have to do is ask:
Who have been the last three president's of the United States for the last three terms? Vice Presidents? And even though through Jay Leno we realize that most Californians who walk the street do not know these answers, this man does not claim to be from California.
He claims to have been very wealthy, so ask some questions about the stock markets. If he is one of "the others" - they claim to have been there for years... ask....
What is Google? What is Yahoo? Who stars in the show "The Apprentice?" What is the latest on Jennifer Aniston? Who stars in the new show about a woman President? What is the name of the show? Name some current shows on Television. Name some current movies out. What show does Jeff Probst star in? What is The Amazing Race? What's going on with Michael Jackson?
Even if "the others" did interrogate their captives and find out some things, chances are they would not have known what to ask and wouldn't be able to answer some of the easiest questions such as these...
How about some political questions... Is the United States at war or peace? Tell me about it.
Where were the last Olympics held? Where is the next one to be held?
Even if he claims ignorance on TV events from not watching television, no one can be void of all knowledge just from checking out at the supermarket lines!
That whole interrogation was so frustrating. I just wanted to shout... "CURRENT EVENTS!"
But I guess then the writer's who think we're stupid, wouldn't be able to keep us in the dark...
