personally, i have a "type" that i am physically attracted to but I know GOD has so much in store for me and it is not based on his physical beauty.

our lord jesus was not so attractive but he sure did attract people with his character.

i pray to see qualities of a genuine man through the eyes of our lord and let it not be influenced by my "preferences"

I don't think it is a matter of if one should have a race preference, but rather what our preferences are. Just like physical attractions and preferences that we all have. As christians, sure we want someone walking the same walk as we do; however we all behold beauty in our eyes and are initially attracted to the physical attributes of another. As far as race, my preference as a black sda woman is to develop a relationship with a black sda christian man. I've found personally from sda dating sites that some black men prefer asian, hispanic or european women. Maybe this is there personal preferences and not based on negative attitudes about black women. I have found a few black men who are not comfortable in their own skin, and by this pick so to speak the black woman and mabye subconsciously make her think she is not the beauty that God created. For example I met one bi-racial man, but when you saw him, you saw a black man. He has a black mother, but was told that he should not marry a black woman because his mother did not want children with nappy hair. He talked with pride about his light skin and how is sisters took pride in getting their hair straightened so that it would look like the european womans hair. Through this I found that though in his world of physical beauty nearing 50, he was not very accomplished, had several failed relationships and marriages, yet he found no offence in sharing his views about black women.
I know that we all have a preference rather it is race, weight, facial features, body contour, intelligence, spirituality, education and even financial status. I think if we look more toward acceptance witht he realization that we might not find every quality in one single person, stop looking for false perfection, become a bit unselfish, we just might find comfort and a friend in a comely person.
My preference is for a tall attractive man, however in meeting that one, if he is not sound in reasoning, lost in culture, decent in morality, temperment and even sex, has goals, accomplishments, and his outward fruits don't give evidence to living a spiritual life, then there is on foundation for me. The outward attracts, but is the inward that holds for me.
I am not totally opposed to dating outside my race is that is God has in store for me, if so, He will reveal that to me, in the meantime, I do shy away from those I meet who are not of my race.
Same as with black men of african or carribean descent, though I've met many and attempted relationships, I have found that though our skin color looks the same, our different cultures and attitudes about relationships can vary greatly. So I try and stick with black american men.

i don't believe in racial preference, and theres far too much of that going on in christianity. Last time i looked we were all joint heirs with jesus not sorted out by colour all equal by salvation . By the way god chooses the spouse your need ,as a helpmate to each other.

I have never chosen a man on his race but by his heart and his belief on god .

But thats just my opinion

I did not start the Black men Adventist dating but I think I got many people to respond lol.

It got me thinking of another question though. Is it alright for us as Christians to have a preference by race?

Personally I don't have one but I am sure some of us do for various reasons.I am not here to judge I just want to know if you do have one why and if you don't why not Look forward to hearing from you.
